DYING WORDS: Worthless prayers and practices

Requiem

Requiem Mass in the Roman Catholic cathedral of St. Catherine in Russia

Babylonian prayers for the dead can be seen in the Eastern belief system throughout Asia, the Catholic Church, the Mormon Church, and even in some of the arts performed by professing Christians.

An example is the Requiem or “mass for the dead” in which supplications are made to GOD on behalf of the dead.

Baal practices are not “dead” (pun intended), but it sure seems that GOD’s people are slowly headed that direction, and ironically because of the impervious silence or sometimes the corrupt examples or teachings of those who are supposed to impart knowledge and instruction to them.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”  – Hosea 4:6

This Wikipedia article has an example of some words from a Requiem which we will quote below.

“Grant them eternal rest, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.”

The Bible teaches that once you are dead, it is too late for rest; therefore, no prayers are going to help you.

“Forgive, O Lord,
the souls of all the faithful departed
from all the chains of their sins”

The Bible teaches that once you are dead, it is too late for forgiveness. Once you’re dead, no prayers are going to help you.

Baal, right arm raised. Bronze figurine, 14th-12th centuries, found in Ras Shamra (ancient Ugarit).

Only the religion of Baal teaches their adherents to offer supplications for the dead.

Is there any purpose in praying for dead non-Christians? No. Their torment is sealed. Is there any purpose in praying for dead saints? No. GOD has already granted them spiritual and physical rest.  Is there any purpose in praying for the “requiem” (Latin word meaning “rest”) of living saints? No, because they have already received spiritual rest in Christ’s finished work for salvation, and they will receive their physical rest after death as a guaranteed part of having the Spirit’s indwelling.

Then why is there such a prayer offered as “dona eis requiem” or “grant or give them rest”? Because, as the very definition of a Requiem explains as seen in the encyclopedia article at this link, a requiem is simply a “mass for the dead” which is a Catholic tradition they adopted from pagan Baal worship. This is a musical tradition that has been observed for centuries by Roman Catholics. Why would any logical Christian imitate this spiritually dead art form filled with prayers for the dead?

The only rest for which one should pray is spiritual rest for the living non-Christians who are trying to work for their own salvation. And ironically, it is the Catholic regime that pushes “works salvation” the hardest. The living non-Christians need to stop their human attempts to merit salvation and rest in Christ by placing their repentant faith entirely in Him. Attempting to pray a requiem is to re-invent a pagan art form for Christ. This is simply confusing and in violation of the Bible which teaches that we do not take pagan culture and use it for the Living Creator of heaven and earth. As Jesus said it so well:

“He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.” – Mark 12:27

While it may allow some to sell more products or to find common ground with wealthy priests and prelates of false religions or to climb into bed with more “movers and shakers” or to schmooze with art snobs and music critics in the upper echelons of high society in this life, those who pray for the dead in their services or who use such art forms are committing spiritual adultery with Baal, the ancient religious adversary to Biblical belief. In heaven, the Creator will have His own hierarchical rank and the wealth, popularity, and positions that he offers are eternal.

“But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last first.” – Mark 10:31

pagan requiemAfter almost a thousand years of Catholics teaching the many forms of Baal beliefs in the name of Christ, I pray that GOD will show Christians today His hand as He did on Mount Carmel, so that the many forms of Baal cultural practice and belief will be made known to His people very soon.  Satan seems to already be tuning up his orchestra of evil men to sing a requiem for GOD’s people.  Their epitaph?  “They died of spiritual adultery, not knowing right from wrong”.

“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him And the people answered him not a word.”  – 1 Kings 18:21
