“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world–the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life –is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.” – [1 John 2:15-17]
When people view evil on the internet, TV, and movies, and lavishly spend their money on beautiful homes and cars, instead of putting the excess toward the Mission, they’re satisfying their eyes.
When people partake of intoxicating substances, undress themselves, listen to the enchanting sounds of rock, commit fornication with their co-workers, neighbors, or school mates, they are fulfilling their flesh.
They are ultimately pleasing themselves and others.
We show everyone who we love by who we try to please. It’s one thing to say we love GOD. It’s another thing to prove it through obedience.
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” – [John 14:15]
