Christianity isn’t formalism, a list of rules, following a group of men who dictate what the Bible says to others, a family tradition, church attendance, following the Ten Commandments, a belief in the Bible, adherence to a conservative movement or denomination, some words such as a sinner’s prayer to fulfill a list, or a set of doctrinal beliefs.
Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ through repentant faith and a prayer for the receiving of the Holy Spirit and His baptism, resulting in fruit and transformed living. In my lifetime, I have never seen so many in conservative churches, ministries, and movements who maintain traditions and outward appearance and doctrinal statements, but who show little or no fruit and whose direction is not found in Scripture but in men and organizations. They hear the Scripture quoted, the Truth presented and they continue with their men-given beliefs. They continue to pour their money and lives into buildings, into church activities with each other, but let the lost perish into an eternal, fiery, nightmarish horror called hell. When I see so few baptisms, but so many young people professing salvation who are graduating from Christian schools and universities, I must ask how many think their family, school, or church attendance equate to salvation. I fear many of them will also perish in that eternal abyss forever where the teeth are gnashed and the fire is never quenched. May GOD open the eyes of those who profess, but do not possess.
Luke 11:13 “If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?”
