Has anyone read the article at this link about the pastor who was burning Bibles on Halloween? It used to be the Vatican who burned good English translations of the Bible. Now it’s fanatics, claiming to be Protestant, who do it.
While I understand that many Bible translations are perversions, and that much of the music that he was burning was probably not fit for my pets to hear, and that many of the book authors in that article are heretics at best, not ALL Bible translations are perverted, and the KJV is not the only one that’s good. Furthermore, any textual criticism they have of the NASB, the NKJV, or the ESV could also be said of the KJV.
That’s why I teach my family how to check out everything in the original manuscripts using tools, techniques, and language skills such as those seen in the article at this link that pastors should be teaching their congregation instead of acting like fanatics. Sadly, most of these so-called pastors don’t even know how to translate the originals that they seem to be so adamant are mistranslated. In fact, I’d go so far as to conjecture that 99% of those in the “KJV only” movement are incapable of translating a chapter of Greek or Hebrew. If they did understand linguistics, they would understand why the “KJV” is a great translation, but not the only one.
Proverbs has something to say about such aberrant behavior.
